668 SIM Count: Prepare, Send and Follow Up

Updated 6 October 2026 · 2 min read

The 668 SIM count enquiry checks connections linked to your own CNIC. Prepare the identity number carefully and compare the operator totals with the connections you recognise.

How to request a 668 SIM count by SMS

Open a new message, enter your own 13-digit CNIC without dashes and send it to 668. Read the operator-wise totals in the reply. Use a working messaging SIM and keep the result private.

Send one careful request

Use your own 13-digit CNIC and send it without spaces or punctuation. Before sending, check which SIM your phone has selected and whether it can send an ordinary message. Keep enough balance for any applicable SMS charge; this guide does not promise a free reply or a fixed current tariff.

Write down the time you sent the request. If a reply is delayed, wait before retrying rather than sending the same identity number many times. If you are using a data-only connection or a phone abroad, ask your operator whether the short code is supported in that situation.

Read a count as a count

Make a private note of each operator and the total shown. Compare it with the connections you remember, including internet devices and old SIMs. Do not infer the individual phone numbers from a count, and do not interpret a total as the name of an unknown caller.

For example, a total of two with one company means you need to account for two registrations with that company. It does not tell you which extra number to call. Use an authenticated enquiry with that operator to investigate.

No reply or an unexpected total

If ordinary SMS also fails, resolve the messaging issue first. If ordinary SMS works but 668 does not reply, check the format, wait and use the browser count route as an alternative. A missing reply is not a zero result.

For an unexplained count, note the company, check date and expected total. Ask the operator to distinguish a connection you once acquired from one you never authorised. Request a reference number and follow-up instructions. Read the complaint guide if the operator response does not resolve the issue.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send a mobile number instead?

The count route uses a CNIC, not a mobile number.
